#21 Sun Devils Host Three, Open Pac-12 Play

TEMPE – No. 21 Sun Devil men's tennis team (6-1) looks to extend its five-match winning streak and perfect home record (5-0) this weekend with three consecutive afternoon matches against Oregon, New Mexico, and Washington. Play kicks off at 2 p.m. MST Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively. Public attendance will not be permitted, but live streaming will be available against Oregon and Washington, while live stats will be available for all three matches.

This is the first weekend of Pac-12 play for the Sun Devils. ASU didn't reach conference play in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the team went 4-4 in 2018-19 and 3-4 in 2017-18. Oregon went 1-7 in 2018-19 and loss its only two conference matches last season, while Washington went 2-8 over the last two years.


Last time out

The Sun Devils beat San Diego 5-2 last Friday in San Diego, Calif. ASUwon the match thanks to singles victories from Andrea Bolla, Makey Rakotomalala, Christian Lerby and Tim Ruehl after dropping the doubles point. Thanks to a 6-1 win in doubles alongside Nathan Ponwith and a three-set decision in singles, sophomore George Stoupe remains perfect in 2021 with identical 6-0 records. Ponwith moves to 6-1 in doubles, and is now 5-1 in singles with his close loss at No. 1


Scouting the Ducks

The Ducks come into the match 7-0 on the season following a 4-3 win against the Washington Huskies.

Scouting the Lobos

A non-conference matchup with New Mexico on Saturday splits the weekend. The Lobos come into the weekend 2-1 following a 5-2 win against Grand Canyon.


Scouting the Huskies

The Huskies come into the weekend 4-3, following a 4-3 loss to Oregon.
